DO and DO NOT – Book of Philippians 2:14-16a -continued

We are continuing in Philippians 2:14-16a to find out how God expects us to conduct ourselves during this life on earth.

I believe that the Book of Philippians is a God inspired guideline for our walk and being in this world. And just as a reminder, the Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and it’s important to keep all of it in context.

Philippians 2:14-16a (NKJV)
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life,

We have already looked at the two points complaining and disputing/arguing and why we should refrain from them. Let’s look at the implications and results.

With this whole Covid-Virus thing going on around us, are we complaining and wanting our old life back? Yes, sometimes I get tired of not being able to travel. BUT I have nothing to complain about, really! We are very blessed. We live in a house along a dirt road, in the mountains away from many people. We can go outside whenever we want, the snow is beautiful, and we have everything we need—power, water and heat, food, love—and most of all a Father who provides for all our needs and supplies.

DO and DO NOT – Book of Philippians 2:12

Philippians 2:12 is on my list of “Do and Do Not” today in trying to find out how God expects us to conduct ourselves during this life on earth.

I believe that the Book of Philippians is a God inspired guideline for our walk and being in this world. And just as a reminder, the Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and it’s important to keep all of it in context.

Philippians 2:12 (NKJV)
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

What does it mean to work out your own salvation; and then do it with fear and trembling?

Working out our salvation does not mean that we have to work to be saved because God says:

DO and DO NOT – Book of Philippians 2:4

Today we are continuing to look at my list of “Do and Do Not” in the Book of Philippians 2:4, trying to find out how God expects us to conduct ourselves during this life on earth.

I believe that the Book of Philippians is a God inspired guideline for our walk and being in this world. And just as a reminder, the Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and it’s important to keep all of it in context.

Philippians 2:4 (NKJV)
Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Here we have one “Do Not” and one “Do.”

DO and DO NOT – Book of Philippians 2:3

Today we are continuing to look at my list of “Do and Do Not” in the Book of Philippians Chapter Two, trying to find out how God expects us to conduct ourselves during this life on earth.

I believe that the Book of Philippians is a God inspired guideline for our walk and being in this world. And just as a reminder, the Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and it’s important to keep all of it in context.

So, here we go:

Philippians 2:3 (NKJV)
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Let’s unpack the “Do” and “Do Not”.

Do not be selfish!
Take the example of Jesus Christ; if He had been selfish we would not have the gift of eternal life and would all go to the lake of fire.

Do not try to impress others that would be you taking the glory instead of giving the glory to God.

DO and DO NOT (Philippians 2:2)

Today I am continuing my list of “Do and Do Not” in the Book of Philippians Chapter Two, trying to find out how God expects us to conduct ourselves during this life on earth.

I believe that the Book of Philippians is a God inspired guideline for our walk and being in this world. And, just as a reminder, the Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and it’s important to keep all of it in context.

Now we are going to look at Philippians 2:2:

Philippians 2:2 (NIV)
Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Do we agree wholeheartedly on everything? No!
Do we have to? No! There will always be instances where we are of different opinion. And that is fine, as long as we are in agreement with one another on the most important matter of all times.

DO and DO NOT (Philippians 1:14, 27)

Don’t we all want to know what God expects of us during this life on earth?

I have been studying the Book of Philippians and go back to it quite often to remind myself of the “DO’S and DO NOT’S” which God inspired to give us a guideline in our walk and being in this world. The Book of Philippians is not the only book in the Bible to give advice for life. We have to take the whole of Scripture into consideration and keep it in context.

Now here is my list in regards to the Book of Philippians:

Philippians 1:14 (NIV)
And because of my [this is apostle Paul speaking] chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to [boldly] proclaim the gospel without fear.

Is He Number ONE In Your Life?

How often do we stop and discern the situation ahead?

How often do we stop and ask God for guidance in the next decision?

Is He really our number ONE?

I want to believe that He is! But then I catch myself going ahead and making a decision without including Him.

I was raised in an entrepreneur home. My dad was a contractor, building houses and roads. My mom did the books and office work besides taking care of us kids, household, garden, and so on.  She was multitasking which left a great impression on me. Mom was the best! She was always there when we got home. We kids were so blessed that we didn’t have to come home to an empty house. Thank you mom!

Be of Sound Mind

Mind Frames by [Warren Henderson]

Today I would like to quote something from a book by Warren Henderson titled MIND FRAMES – Where life’s battle is won or lost – ISBN 188270194-1.

I am on page 36 and it’s been a blessing. To tell the truth I would like to quote everything I have read so far. Now this is impossible and would violate copyright for sure.

So here is a quote from page 36 which I hope will bless you as it has blessed my soul:

Quote from page 36:

“Ponder for a moment that darkest secret that you try to keep hidden from everyone else. Yes, the Lord knows all about it.” ……
“The following verses indicate God’s desire for the believer’s mind, namely that the mind be settled, sound and spiritual.”
